www.commoncurriculum.com/sites/westesl6ahttps://commoncurriculum.com/sites/mrswestperiod1Students in the English/English as a Second Language (ESL) class are currently classified as an English Language Learner (ELL). In the ESL classroom, we continue student language development in the domains of listening, speaking, reading and writing through English/Language Arts content, which prepares them to consistently do grade-level work in all subject areas. Students take Math, Science and Social Studies alongside their general education peers.
Students who have satisfactory grades in their major subjects, state standardized tests (WIDA ACCESS for ELLs and MCAS), and the recommendation of teachers and administrators, successfully exit the ESL program.
If you have further questions about the ESL program, please contact the Bilingual/ESL Office at Brockton Public Schools at (508) 580-7508.
